New Home "Wish List"

Your opinions on the type of new home you want to own may change during the home buying process. Use this easy checklist to help you set your priorities and make the home shopping process less time consuming.

Instructions: Take a sheet of paper and make 3 columns. Label each column as follows: Must Have, Would Prefer, and Not Important.

The goal for your home is to prioritize these options!

This New Home Wish List will help you keep your desires in perspective. You certainly want to focus on purchasing a home that is functional for you and/or your family.

Your home has to meet your everyday living arrangements and needs. These needs should be non-compromising. Some of those needs may include: 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, eat-in kitchen and backyard. Take your time and really think about what your home will need in order to be live-able.

In contrast, list your wants for your home. We call this a "Wish List." These are "nice to have" features, but they are not mandatory. Some nice to have features may include: fireplace,
